New decomposition of the radar target scattering matrix

Electronics Letters · 1990 · Vol. 26(18) · pp. 1525–1527

Abstract

A new decomposition of the complex radar target scattering matrix resolves a 2 × 2 complex scattering matrix into three components that provide a clearer picture of the physical mechanisms behind the scattering and, thereby, a clearer picture of the target itself.
